The RBI Grade B (Generalist) examination is currently divided in three phases, i.e. Preliminary, Main examination and Interview.
Preliminary exam or Phase I- It is qualifying in nature. It has four sections, i.e. Quantitative Aptitude (30 marks), Logical reasoning (60 marks), Objective English (30 marks) and General Awareness (80 marks). The exam format is online-Multiple choice answer based. You have to achieve minimum sectional cut-off as well as overall cut-off to reach in second phase.
Main Exam or Phase II- The marks obtained in this phase are reckoned for final selection. Presently, it has three sections- 1. Economic and Social Issues, 2. Finance and Management and 3. English. The ESI and FM exam format is online-Multiple choice answer based while test of English is descriptive wherein you are supposed to type online. Each paper has 100 marks each. Interview or Phase III– It carries 50 marks which are reckoned for final selection along with marks of phase II.
